KEY
FEATURES
Throughput
Less than 15 minutes for imaging and processing of four
6-well plates.*
No more microscope!
Banish fatigue and discomfort due to tedious counting
of non-adherent colonies under a microscope. High-resolution,
high depth-of-field imaging allows single-pass detection
of colonies as small as 30 µm (diameter) in medium
layers of up to 4 mm in depth.
Versatility
Suitable both for the detection and analysis of adherent
(typically stained) colonies or of non-adherent (typically
unstained) colonies in semi solid media (e.g. soft agar,
methylcellulose, etc.) or spheroids in suspension.
Flexibility
Compatible with multi-well plates (6-, 12-, 24-, 48-
and 96-well), with Petri dishes (35 mm, 50 mm and 100
mm) and with T25 flasks**.
2-year product warranty
GelCount is supplied with a 24-month comprehensive ‘peace
of mind’ product warranty.
Dedicated and user-friendly
GelCount is provided with dedicated, highly sophisticated
imaging and image analysis software featuring an intuitive,
efficient and flexible user interface.
More than just a colony count!
Colony counting with GelCount also yields detailed colony
size distribution/outputs, plus other statistical parameters
such as colony OD and theoretical colony ‘volume’.
Objective and consistent 'machine' counting
A second-generation ‘CHARM’ algorithm objectively
applies definable colony detection rules while distinguishing
overlapping colonies and suppressing false positives
due to contamination or staining/agar artifacts.
Inclusion / exclusion of colonies based on size,
and more
GelCount software allows extensive user-optimization
of colony detection including inclusion/exclusion of
colonies based on size, optical density or colony shape,
as well as providing global sensitivity controls.
Automated Excel® exportation of numerical
data
Direct exportation of numerical count and statistical
colony data to Microsoft® Excel®.
Digital archiving of colony cultures
Save images in raw digital format for a permanent archive
of colony samples and/or unlimited ‘off-line’
processing/re-processing.
Generic image format output
Save colony images in a generic bitmap format for printing,
presentations, etc.
High-resolution on-screen view
Entire wells or Petri dishes can be conveniently viewed
on-screen at high resolution.
Unlimited software licenses/installations
GelCount software may be installed on any number of
workstations, allowing users to save colony images and
to process them at their own convenience!
Unlimited software updates
Our customer-focused service includes free and unlimited
availability of software updates, fixes and enhancements
for the lifetime of the product.
*Resolution-dependent; quoted
example is for typical high-resolution imaging of soft
agar colonies.
**Currently Sarstedt® T25 flasks (model 83.1810).
