Robotic sample loading for GelCount™

Unlocking its true throughput potential

Oxford Optronix are proud to announce the availability of an automated, robotic sample loading solution for its popular GelCount™ organoid and colony counting imager system.

Developed in collaboration with Astech Projects Ltd., UK, and based on the company’s Robotic Benchtop Assistant (RBA) platform, the solution provides a turnkey, benchtop solution to automate the loading, imaging, unloading, and processing of samples arising from large scale colony, spheroid, or organoid formation assays.

With up to 6 sample loading plates per custom ‘hotel’ stack, the solution can be configured to autonomously process up to 48 multi-well plates per session.

The solution is both forward-compatible with our second-generation GelCount 2 device, and backward-compatible with our first-generation GelCount devices already widely in use globally.

Both the GelCount and the RBA are controlled from the same PC, with both platforms able to communicate and coordinate reliable, synchronized operation.

While the RBA loads and unloads samples, the GelCount acquires images, optionally processes them, and stores the data in a location specified by the end-user.

The solution is available to pre-order immediately.
